Healed Home Project

PERVENTION, PRESERVATION, PROSPERITY

Thousands of Indigenous youth are removed from their homes every year, leaving families fractured, communities weakened, and cultural connections disrupted. These separations carry lasting consequences. Youth often experience trauma, disconnection from their culture, and instability through multiple placements, while families face stress, anxiety, and the emotional burden of separation. Communities lose cohesion, and cultural continuity is threatened.

These removals are rarely the result of a lack of care or love. More often, they occur because families lack timely, culturally informed support in their homes. Without access to practical guidance, skilled interventions, and resources delivered directly where they live, manageable challenges can escalate into crises, leading to unnecessary involvement in the child welfare system.

The Healed Home Project exists to change this. Our mission is to prevent unnecessary removal by keeping youth safely in their homes while providing culturally grounded, evidence-informed support to families. Through a combination of personalized in-home care and virtual support via our Parent and Youth Portals, we equip families with the guidance, tools, and strategies they need to strengthen relationships, address challenges, and rebuild stability.

Our approach is holistic, family-centered, and strengths-based. By fostering trust, cultural connection, and resilience, the Healed Home Project empowers youth and families to heal, thrive, and grow together. More than a program, it is a commitment to preserving families, strengthening communities, and ensuring that every Indigenous youth has the opportunity to flourish in the home and community they belong to.

A COMMITMENT TO KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER

The Healed Home Project is more than a service; it is a movement to restore balance, protect family integrity, and strengthen the cultural roots that hold communities together. Every family deserves the chance to heal, grow, and thrive within their own home, surrounded by love, tradition, and connection.

By providing consistent, culturally grounded, and personalized care directly to families, we help prevent unnecessary separations and create lasting stability. Each success story is a reflection of hope renewed, culture preserved, and futures strengthened.

When youth are supported in their own homes, entire communities benefit. Relationships heal, confidence grows, and the cycle of removal begins to break. The Healed Home Project stands as a promise—to keep families together, to honor culture, and to ensure that every youth has the opportunity to grow up safe, supported, and home.

If your family is facing challenges or you know a youth who could benefit from this support, we encourage you to apply or refer a family today. Together, we can build the foundation for healing, resilience, and a future where every child has the chance to stay home and thrive.

SUPPORT MODEL

The Healed Home Project is built on the belief that every Indigenous youth deserves to remain safely at home, connected to their family, culture, and community. Our approach combines personalized in-home support with the innovative CareLink platform, creating a seamless system that delivers consistent, culturally grounded care wherever families need it most.

Personalized In-Home Support

Our in-home programs bring professional care directly into the home, providing families with hands-on guidance, practical strategies, and culturally informed support. Every visit is tailored to the family’s unique needs, whether that means a few hours per week or more intensive, around-the-clock care. Our dedicated support staff work closely with parents, caregivers, and youth to strengthen relationships, rebuild trust, and foster stability. By addressing underlying challenges and building on strengths, we help families navigate difficulties while promoting resilience, communication, and long-term well-being.

CareLink: Virtual Support

CareLink complements in-home support through two integrated portals designed to keep families connected and empowered.

Youth Portal
The Youth Portal gives young people access to interactive tools, guidance, and culturally grounded resources. It encourages self-expression, builds confidence, and helps youth stay engaged in their growth while reinforcing their connection to culture and community.

Parent Portal
The Parent Portal equips parents and caregivers with real-time strategies, insights, and personalized guidance. Families receive culturally relevant tools and practical support to strengthen relationships, restore trust, and promote stability within the home.

Together, in-home support and CareLink form a responsive, adaptive system that evolves with each family’s unique journey. Every interaction, whether virtual or in-person, is rooted in compassion, understanding, and empowerment. Our team works side by side with families, providing consistent guidance and culturally grounded strategies that help them navigate challenges, strengthen communication, and rebuild trust. This blended approach ensures that support is always accessible, responsive to change, and tailored to meet each family exactly where they are.

Through ongoing connection, families gain not only the tools to address immediate challenges but also the knowledge and confidence to create sustainable growth and long-term stability. Youth remain safely at home, surrounded by the love of their families, grounded in their cultural identity, and supported by a team that believes in their potential. As they grow and heal, they develop the emotional, social, and life skills needed to step confidently into their future.

The Healed Home Project is more than a program. It is a movement toward prevention, empowerment, and cultural continuity. It represents a commitment to transforming how care is delivered, ensuring that families receive the right support before a crisis occurs. By keeping care within the home and community, we preserve family bonds, protect cultural heritage, and build strong foundations for generations to come.
